Yesterday I the one of the most brave models in the world. She came in with hair long enough to make Rapunzel envy her, and a collor that only can remind you of summer. Sweet as she is, sitting there in the chair, talking with me about what's going to happen, she sais "But, I think it's sad to see all that hair going to waste. Can't we do anything about it?", and I sugest that we could send it to the Againt Cancer-fond, so thay could use it for a wig. And it didnt take long before she was persuaded - eventhough it ment, that I would have to cut at least 25cm. of hair beautiful hair.

This is Siff before the haircut. Like I said, long blond Scandinavian hair, to hide away her pretty face. What a shame! She is originaly cut very simpel; A Solid form, with horizontal divisions, which she liked a lot.

But in an Accident she had to pull her hair out of the wheel of her bike, and it destroyed the tips of the hair, and gave her a involuntary haircut, with increased lenght.

The picture below shows pretty well what I mean. The hair is very straight up and down, back and forth, nothing fancy going on.

Now what we did was to cut the hair, like she is used to; a solid form and horizontal divisions, just shorter, and with Increased lengths (which is supposed to be there).

Here is my drawing, to show how i did it:

To explain some of it, because I know for some of you, this drawing is just wierd lines, in two different colors, and directions. Everything drawn in blue the solid form, and the horizontal lines, are where I would divide the hair.

The red color is how I wanted to divide the hair for the increased lengths, but I actually ended up doing it in pivot point divisions instead. I Didn't get a chance to draw five new faces, but the result ended pretty great anyway.

Before I started to cut her hair, I of course washed it in both shampoo and conditioner. Because of her fine Scandinavian hair, they where both Protien based products, to give the hair some strength, and something that could make the hair stand the haircut, that I was about to give it.

I also gave it a treatment, but a super moisturizing one. Because all the protien, can be a little rough on the hair, and actually dry it up. All the products were from the Danish brand Ingridien.

The picture right next to us is the ponytail I cut of. At least 25cm. of pretty blond hair, and a result of years without anyone touching it, but herself. Her mother actually told me, that before I asked her, if she wanted to be my model for a haircut, she told her, that she never ever, ever(!) wanted a haircut again. But because it was me, she thought that it was okay. And I am so proud!

Before I cut it, we had a long conversation about how the final haircut would turn out. I prepared her for the fact, that her hair would go from reaching the bottom of her back, to only just make it over her shoulders. Which scared her of a bit. But I told her, that i would never ever cut her hair, in a way that wouldn't suit her face and type of person, or cut it in way she didn't like. And even if I did, we could always change it, or she could let it grow back. This convinced her (again), that it would be alright.

I think it was the "grow back" and "not ugly" parts of the conversation, that convinced her. And I think she is one of the bravest girls in the world! Because I know how girls with long hair, loves it like it was their only child, and to cut it of takes quit some balls.

And now to the result! For my first "real" haircut, with the right guidens, and techniques, I'm really proud! Take a look:

Again; I think it's pretty brave to do such things, and to break your old habits. I hope it inspires you, as a reader, to do the same. If not cutting your hair of, give it a splash of color, to make yourself a little more memorable.

I styled Siffs hair with produkts from both Ingredien and Osis. Im gonna make a fancy list below. I think it's easier. Heatprotection: Ingredien - Body load. Also To give it more volume, when i blow dried the hair.

Volume: Ingredien - Funny Dust Powder. To add some volume in the top layer of the hair, and to mess up the tips up a little bit. Shine: Osis+ - Sparkler Finish. I only used a little bit of this. Just to make it a little more shiny. Hold: Ingredien - Power Blaster Hair spray - Just to make te hair resistant to a huricane.

I hope you enjoyed the story of Siff and her hair. //Maja
